About the role
You will join our Consumables team within Group R&D, reporting to one of the Senior Chemists or Team Leader.  Your role as an Assistant/Junior R&D Scientist will involve formulating innovative inkjet fluid products in the laboratory, testing the performance of the fluids on various packaging and testing the fluids in printers to assess the jetting behaviour.  You will work within a small team in an innovative and dynamic environment with cutting-edge analytical and printing equipment. You will be involved in the development of reliable solutions to help the world’s manufacturers be sustainable and cut waste while attracting, informing, and protecting consumers following Domino values.

What will you do
  • Plan and perform experiments requiring a high level of practical skills
  • Ensure a high level of attention to detail and scientific rigor is used in the compilation of data
  • Write reports and compile presentations to communicate findings at group meetings
  • Track and communicate project progress against agreed plans
  • Maintain the housekeeping standards within the laboratory environment
  • Be responsible for the maintenance of assigned laboratories and equipment
  • Create and implement work instructions, procedures and methodology
  • Train others in specific tasks
  • Ensure work is carried out in accordance with Group health, safety, and environmental policies to continue to make Domino a great place to work


About you
You will have :
  • GCSE or equivalent 5 GCSEs (including Maths, English & Science) (Grade A*-C/9-4) Essential
  • A Level or equivalent Various (with one being chemistry) (Grade BCC (104 UCAS Points)) Essential
  • Strong organisational, planning and time management skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Good analytical skills
  • Practical and problem-solving skills.
  • Flexibility
  • Awareness of health and safety and lab etiquette

Success Differentiators
Experience / degree valuable for this role :
  • BSc in Chemistry, Material Science or related discipline would be an advantage.
  • Excellent team player who enjoys being hands-on, keen to learn and is committed to job.
